We spent the first five summers of the Inside Passage trips aboard the 22-foot C-Dory cruiser formerly known as the "Tonie O." The 2000 C-Dory has twin four-stroke, forty-horsepower Honda engines, radar, GPS, autopilot, Wallas stove, plenty of fishing and trapping gear. The former "Tonie O" was sold in the Spring 2007 to a wonderful couple from Southern California. It was very hard to let go of her, but it really helps to know that she has gone to a good home and new adventures.
We then prepared to spend our sixth Inside Passage summer aboard the "Itsuro," an 8-meter Allweather Voyager, designed and built by Homer Hughes. The Allweather is a really well-designed double-ender powered by a diesel Bukh 24, with a 1000-1500-mile range. We look forward to our new adventures on a boat with greater range, extraordinary fuel efficiency, and the ability to take bigger seas.
At the end of the Summer 2007 voyage, Itsuro had traveled 800 miles on only 53 gallons of diesel fuel. Remarkable!
